The science, art or technique of setting up the interiors of the room, a floor or building is termed Interior Designing.

Interior Designing and Interior Decorating are two unique fields which can be commonly mistaken for that other. The Designer creates space as well as the Decorator enhances it.

An Interior Designer co-ordinates in the blue print till the execution/ finishing of the project.

Limited space for construction requires optimum utilization of available space. The most effective using space, user well-being factor, functionality on the layout and coordination with developers will be the most important areas of Interior designing.

In the last, interiors were created instinctively as part of the means of building depending on the needs and requirements from the stakeholders or developers. Time and space constraints allow us Interior designing in to a science. For example an Interior Designer can have the talent and acumen to adjust to in a small closet or loft or even a washroom in a room if this seems impossible into a layman without compromising on room inside.

The profession of Interior Designing can be so vast and has now many verticals and contains branched out into specialist designers. There are different Interior Designers for apartments, houses, commercial blocks, offices, hospitals, hotels, schools etc

In India Vasthu is an extremely important aspect in construction. As such the Interior designer is needed to guide the erectors on the building within the basic requirements of Vasthu
